PID Lamps

Photoionization Detection (PID) Lamps

Analytical West stocks the original SSI brand (the Pioneers of PID) Photoionization Detection Lamps. These lamps are the world’s most efficient PID lamp products, and are backed by the most comprehensive warranty offered by any lamp manufacturer. Our selection of superior quality lamps includes the popular 108-10.0/10.6 model (now part number 510108-1000), as well as the newly-introduced BTEX lamp, a higher output lamp with the same stability of our original 108-10.0/10.6 lamps. We invite you to review our entire PID Lamps using the links below:

Large Outline PID Lamps

The original PID lamp used in HNU style instruments is fabricated with a VUV grade magnesium fluoride window and is filled with 99.997% pure Krypton gas. The BTEX Model offers 33% more output than the Model 103C and offers greater sensitivity to the presence of VOCs. Tests after three months of operation at 1ma and 250°C show the BTEX lamp to maintain an output as high as the average new and unused 103C lamp.

Standard Outline PID Lamps

The most popular of our line of PID lamps. This lamp is fabricated with a VUV grade magnesium fluoride window and is filled with 99.997% pure Krypton gas. It is similar to the Model 103C but utilizes a smaller, more efficient envelope. The BTEX Model offers 33% more output than the Model 108-10.0/10.6eV, and offers the same excellent stability that has characterized SSI PID lamps over the years.

Model 103 and 108 lamps are warranted to perform for 2000 hours (approximately 3 months of continuous usage), (provided normal operation does not exceed 1 ma at 250°C). It is the users responsibility to properly handle and maintain the lamps in order to obtain the warranted level of performance. Required care includes careful cleaning (cleaning kit available) when deposits form on the window and blocks the VUV output.

Every lamp is tested again before being packed for shipment to insure that it is in excellent operating condition. If one of our lamps fails to meet your expectations, please call us at 800-305-0004 with details of the failure. If necessary, a Return Authorization Number will be issued to send in for further evaluation.
