Ion Trap Device (ITD) Filament Assembly, Yttria Coated

Yttria Rhenium alloy plug-in type replacement filament for ion trap mass spectrometers. Direct replacements for those supplied by Thermo, Varian, Perkin-Elmer, Teledyne and Hitachi. Each filament assembly contains two yttria rhenium alloy filaments, tensioned and aligned to maximize mass spectrometer performance. The circular filament press is constructed from high-purity alumina ceramic.

These filaments resulted from an intensive three year study and investigation on mass spectrometer filament life and performance. In these studies it was discovered that by alloying rhenium with a small concentration of yttria, the crystal structure of the rhenium material was altered, resulting in a stronger filament that is much less susceptible to warping. The new filaments perform electrically identical to pure rhenium filaments.

Compatible with Saturn model 2000, 2100, 2200 series.
